Casting Talent for Still Photography Projects: A Peek into Our Process

A recent project that we cast for Starbucks x Marriott. Production: Kontent Partners.

Aura Casting is the ultimate destination for casting talent in still photography projects.

We pride ourselves on our proven ability to source the perfect models and ‘real people’ for any project, ensuring that producers are always extremely pleased with the results.

When a producer approaches us in need of lifestyle models, real people or hand models, we kick into gear by employing our meticulous evaluation process via portfolio links or self-tape auditions. We understand the importance of capturing natural and effortless movements for print, which is why we look for talent who exude authenticity in everything they do.

To gauge a talent's suitability for the project, we often ask them to film themselves making a cup of coffee, playing with a pet, or engaging in a sport in the backyard. These activities help us assess if the talent can move naturally in front of a camera or if they appear rigid and unsure, which could translate poorly on film.

Our casting team has a soft spot for ‘real people’ because we believe that authenticity is key to creating impactful and relatable campaigns. By delving into our network, making cold calls, and revisiting our extensive talent files, we are able to uncover individuals with unique stories and genuine charisma that perfectly align with the project's vision.

We take pride in selecting talent that not only has the right look but also brings a personal touch and sense of individuality to the shoot. Seeing their excitement is a rewarding experience that further solidifies our commitment to finding the perfect fit for each project.
